Its a x16xe.

Im guessing you have no transponder/immobiliser setup.
Which is causing you problems.

i think its like a coil that goes round the ignition barrel so when you put the key in the ignition it turns the immob off

As above.
Its like a box that goes by the ignition barrel, you also need a chip out the ignition switch key too.
They have to be a matched pair iirc, if you get me.

you will need, the transponder, barrel housing thingy (with loom) and a ecu which all come from same car

is it alot of wireing and will a car run without it as i got the engine from a guy on mig and hes got a c20xe init now so if he romoves the stuff i need will his car run still ?
if not could i get the stuff from a scraped car or does it need to be from the same car as engine came from

The ecu, key and barrel sensor thingy all need to be from the same car.

You can get your ecu wiped so it doesn't look for the immobiliser system.
Costs about ?150 tho.

I think G88Kag got it done at a vauxhall dealer where he works.

Hi mate, didn't get it done at work, a specialist company we deal with through work did it for me. i bought an exchange ecu off them, with the immobiliser input missing, saved a whole load of hassle and my wiring loom is neater. (didn't fancy seccuring a bulky key and immob ecu to the back of the dash somewhere)

that part you need is the bit right on the top of the photo, that will be needed to be wired into the engine loom, its rather easy only 4-5 wires lol

the connetor is in the cars loom, not engine, you need to cut it out and mod it into the engines loomlol
