i put an engine in a 1.2 sxi nova today and when i go to start it the ignition lights dont even go off. It doesnt do anything! The starter that is on it is off a 1.4 merit and the bit where the wires go on are different. It has ring terminals on the 1.2 but on the 1.4 it has spade terminals? I have put the red live wire on where it goes but i dont know where the other two wires go? Help please! Thanks

You should have a big red straight from the battery, another red connects to the same point as the batt one, but the other end goes to the alternator.

And the final wire is a black/red from the ignition switch.
