I need to replace one of the CV boots on the short drive shaft and I bought a replacement one donkeys ago but discovered today that it came with plastic cable ties rather then the metal ones.

I've used plartic ties before and theyre crap (the boot always slips off eventually) but I cant for the life of me remember what the metal ties are called. Hoping to pick some up on ebay or another on line motor factors...

Anyone know?

been searching and seen some clamp kits - basically make your own size jubilee clips...

Would these do?

My only concern is I dont want anything fouling on my hub/brakes etc (its the outer cv joint thats gone)

Is this the type of clip you're after, the ones that you pinch shut.

If thats not it just browse their hose clips and kits section, there'll be what you're after somewhere in there.

sort of - theyre usually like the nylon cable ties but you thread one side through a loop and back on itself.

I think the jubilee clips thing should work...
