engine problem , help needed !!!

my c20xe nova has just started stalling when i approach junctions , for example , when im approaching a set of traffic lights , I put the clutch down and the engine just dies like ive stalled it ! ??

also when the car is idleing it doesnt just sit at 900-ish revs as normal , it rises up to like 1500 rpm then drops down to like 500 and almost stalls .

I tell you , its doing my brain in !!

sounds to me like an air leak in the intake side of things. ECU will be getting confused, or IACV needs cleaning
