Right i may be looking to sell my 1.3Sr and buying another nova.

Being a better shell, and having recent full respray, smoothed, aswell as interior in good nick, its only a 1.2spi, which is where my next question comes in.........

Wat parts out of a GSi or GTE 1.6 8v will i need?

Engine, Box, Loom, ECU.............Driveshafts? any different mounts? tank? fuel lines?

I need a list of the main bits i need to get it in and working!

Any help much appreciated!

Keep 1.2i shafts, mounts, tank.

Fit a MPI in tank pump in place of the spi one. Get on from a cav/astra/corsa etc.

E16se engine goes straight in, ecu is kept in the engine bay on it. You could fit and use the 1200i manifold/downpipe/system, but that will restrict the engine slightly due to single downpipe setup.

You have about 6/7wires from the ecu to connect to your cars loom.

Thats all.

Conversion to 1.6 8v GTE (http://www.corsa-novatuning.nl/uk/PartsA1600.htm)

The ashley straight thru system from manifold to Back box thats on car currently will be used on E16se when fitted.

So all i need, is:
E16se engine
Gear Box
ECU from E16se
And the wires on ECU connect up to the 1.2i loom?
And an 'in tank mpi fuel pump from an astra/cav or a corsa.

That it yeh?

Yeah. And the engine loom.

The wires that the 1.6 ecu needs connecting can then be connected to the ones that supplied the 1.2i ecu, the rest just plug in sensors etc on the engine.

Sorry wats that, the wires from the 1.6ecu can be connected to the 1.2 ecu......?

Slightly confused, is there a commer (,) meant to be in there or anything?

how experienced do you think u have to be to perform this engine conversion? i no a bit but never done out like this, but wan2 give it a go

This is apparently a fairly easy conversion, im just making sure ive got all the bits i need!

Aye, i'd had a few when i typed that,Lol.

I meant the 1.6 ecu needs about 7 wires connecting to the cars loom.

If you remove the 1.2i ecu you'll have a plug with all the wires on that your 1.6 ecu needs.
So you could splice into them.

Or just go the direct route, straight 12v to batt, ign switched at ign switch etc.

ive just done a conversion 1.6 gte in to a 1.2. for the wiring the thick red goes to the battery. black is ignition live which connects to the black where the coil was. the green connects to the green where the coil was. the blue and red connects to the blue and red from the 1.2 fuel relay. the brown bolts to the engine. you also need the coil with the 1.6 engine. if its a gsi there is an extra wire think its brown and blue i think thats engine management light iirc. gud luck. lol

It wont be me thats fitting it, i just want to make sure ive got all the bits needed to connect it all up!
