Voila, i made a new thread on it ;)

I always wanted to know if it was possible to shove the 2.5 V6 from the calibra into the nova? iv seen it done on corsa's.. and i know the set ups are almost identical.. but iv never seen a V6 nova in the flesh.

Has it been done?

on the road you'll eat an m3 it'll do 160+ and it's a little difficult but worth it you'll be in a select group of a few

It weighs more than a xe/let, and is about 190bhp iirc.
Probably about same performance as a xe.

''yeah mate, thats a 1.2spi engine - huffs and puffs its way to 70mph.. what? modified?? narrrrhhhh.... why waste money on making your car faster when that could be spent on making your car more secure!?''

Might as well save your cash and not bother insuring it if you going to say that.

yes as above! if you end up killing some one or causing serious injury, your car will inspected, your insurance will be invalid and you will be paying via your ring peice for the rest of your lifelol

Yes it does fit, i am building a 3ltr just now, i have had the engine in, there are clearance problems in a few places that you will have to sort out, the std exhaust manifold (rear) is no good, custom one is needed and its a bit of a headache. You will need to make at least one of the engine mounts and mod one or make two from scratch(what im doing). So it is possible, there are a few knocking about but expect it to take longer than an XE conversion. U need a few bits of the donor car too!

As for insurance the company i phoned told me it is "mainly" based on the car the engine came from, ul need engineers reports(for most insurers) but if your 17 they probly arent goin to be keen, some NCB helps, i will be insuring mine with everything declared - oh and i dont think a lot of insures like rollcages and you probly would be best to have 1!
