Right ive recently been stripping an astra GSI for the brakes, engine/gearbox and loom.. Ive managed to get what i think is required for the conversion into a nova i just want to check i dont need anything else before the car is scrapped.

Here is what i have taken out.. I have more close up pics if required.

and here is what i was left with which i think is mainly the lighting loom and stuff to do with the ABS etc which i think is not needed.

you might be wanting the coil too mate. other than that you have everything you need loom wise.
p.s if your going to scrap the astra gsi would you fancy sending me the bonnet vents as a good will gesture? worth a try tho lol.

cant tell fully but have you got all necessary wiring and relay for the fuel pump etc? and unless your using a sri or gsi nova you may want the actual pump and quite possibly the lines too depending on what you have already in the nova.

Looks to me like you've got all the neccessary.

If it was me I would probably pull as much loom of the car as possible. Its always handy to have som vaux colour wires in the spares pile in case you want to do some loom lengthening later on etc.

Also, keep as many as the water pipes as you can as they are ALWAYS handy!

Just read another thread regarding coded ecu's.. whats this all about? and would the ecu from the astra be coded? if so what do i do?

Thanks.

Doubt you'll have to worry mate.

On same engines like some of the 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v you have to have the correct key as it matches a transponder in the ecu or something like that.

As said, you should be fine with that one.

c20xe's are older engines, so have no immobiliser coded keys etc.
So your fine.
