im only planning to repaint below the front bumper and side bump strips, and they're closed now+tomorrow so I can't phone them :p.

cant see it changing your premium - what colour are you spraying it ?? just the black ??

Yeah just the black to cover the rust treatment i'm planning.

I'd say depends if they ask you at the time of quoting. For example, elephant/admiral don't ask on their online system what colour the car is, so as long as you updated the V5 its not really any business of theirs (as they effectively didn't know what the colour was to start with). Having said that, best to err on the safe side and inform them, if just for courtesy.

I'd call them anyway.

I friend of my brothers had a modified cav.
He had the bumpers, mirrors and grill colour coded.
Later on he crashed the car and they refused to pay out.
