I reckon your nova will kane it with ease, i had the 20v turbo and it wasnt really that quick for being a turbo til i upped the boost!, Think the NA ones would be a little bit slower.

But i got rid of mine to get a cav turbo!

I'd said about 9/10secs to 60.

mk4 1.8 20v GTi has 125 bhp and does the 0-60 dash in 9.6 seconds.

Time to take him outside!

yeh ill rip him up then! its jus this stretch of road from my mums to my dads, people always have a quick race where 2 roads become one, who ever can get in front to get in the single roiad, so ill race him there lol.

You need a lot more power than another car to "cane" it.

You will most likely beat it. My mate beat one quite easily in a 1.4 sri, twicelol

If they were similar weights of car, a nova is going to be a good few 100kgs lighter than a MK4 Golf?

And the golf has a lot more power.

True enough, would think wheels would have an effect too, if the golf is on 18s it should be easily beaten (my turbo wasnt stunning quick or fast on 18s) smaller wheels and it does take off, same would apply to the Nova, one way to find out....

If IIRC didnt they do a test on top gear a while back and the Golf was wooped by a diesel skoda octavia?

they only seem to put those 20v turbo engines in cars which are too heavy. did a service on my mates 20v turbo a3 the other day, took it for a thrashing after and i was absolutely appauled (sp) at the performance!!!!

Like anything that rolled out of the late 90's onward VAG stable. Germans have a massive teutonic hard on for weighty safety equipment.
