right im having trouble with my passenger side inner cv. ever since last week when i had to drive up a curb with the drivers side wheel at about 30mph to avoid some dozey bitch, ive been having problems with my passenger inner cv. first the driveshaft just popped out, so i put it back in then some how the cv fell apart (bearings fell out even tho nothing is broke and i cant now get it back together). so i bought a new one and that has lasted three days and has gone again!!! so any ideas as to whats going on or what might be causing it

Im taking a guess at just bad luck, could be faulty parts, are they remanufactured?? Only other thing i can think of as that somehow the distance between gearbox and wheel hub has became larger on the problem side alowing a bit too much movement?? Hence shaft/and or bearings falling out

Just thoughts tho

Sounds like a dodgy driveshaft.

It usually is if CV's keep breaking...

Something must be damaged/bent and putting strain on the cv's.

You probly wont see it easily. At a guess (again) it would be the suspension control arm bent a bit, ive seen similar things and u cant really tell til you compare the part with a known good one!

thing is i hit the curb with the driverside and its the passenger one im having trouble with plus the bottom arms are strengthened and so i doubt it would be that.

new shafts you say, where did you get them from. Basically ive had trouble recently when buying new shafts as they supplied us with shafts that were too long to be nova but too short to be corsa an i kept breaking cvs until i measured it. I would take it out and measure it to be sure.

engine mount ?? sounds stupid BUT i broke an engine mount on my old escort and if i turned right and accelerated it used to pull the driveshaft out the gearbox

i got the shafts from this bloke on ebay who makes them, as i said though its only happened since i hit the curb so i dont think its the length of them as for the mount i spose its something to look at

Not being funny, but are you sure the engine/gearbox hasn't been pushed towards the nearside due to the smack. If the shaft hasn't got enough room to "float", that could kill them! Just an idear...
