Bought this on Wednesday night...

Its a 1400SR, 10 months MOT, 108,000 miles just had the head skimmed, new cam belt, head set etc. new tyres, kenwood cd player, lots of history.

Overall the car is in excellent original condition apart from the rear arches which are a tad rusty but but was supplied with 2 brand ones still in the bubble wrap. :D

Got the car in the garage over the weekend and had a good look/check over..

Its had some welding done on the near side rear spring mount and a small plate welded in the offside rear inner arch just behind the damper, but ive managed to smarten it up with an angle grinder and plan to give the whole lot a good underseal so it wont be that noticeable.

As for the rear arches i plan to cut out all the crap and weld in plate as best as i can and finish it off with filler (as little as possible) then get them blown over on the cheap. I want to use the brand new arches i got with the car on my GSI which i am putting in the garage over the winter to do a C20XE conversion.

The rest of the car just needs a good clean up, the interior has some dodgy stains on the passenger seat, and the engine bay could do with a steam clean. The engine is sweet as a nut and pulls real well. Ive got 3 spare carbs with the car if anyone needs parts?

The only other plan i have for the SR is to slam it! Ill swap shocks and springs with the GSI when it comes off the road in the next couple weeks which has 60mm AVO springs. I want to get coilovers for the GSI anyways.

Ill try and get pics of the progress up soon..

Also the petrol gauge does not work it seems to show full all the time. How do i go about fixing this problem?

Is there a sensor on the fuel tank that can be replaced?

Its a sensor on the bottom of the full tank, they corrode over time.
