If you can put up with limited miles, then try insuring it on a classic car policy

That seems an ok quote tbh.

I wouldn't bother tho, wait till you have NCB, more driving experience, and are older.
As you'll save in the long run.

it must be the area i live in or something?? Got a quote on an Astra GSi and it was ?700 cheaper than the Nova?

Adam
06-10-06, 04:19 PM
Nova is a higher risk car tho, less safe/secure than a mk3 astra.

General Baxter
06-10-06, 04:30 PM
try a 1.4 LS astra, they cost more to insure than a gsi lol

I had mine nova insured with adrian flux for quite a few years, and tbh it didn't really go down that much with age. i was 27 when i cancelled with a flux and over 5 years the premium had only come down by 40 quid ish. When i took it off the road, adrian flux still offered me the best/value for money quote i could get, png membership helping with a reduced membership scheme at the time.

Got a very rough online quote from HIC a few days back, for an XE in the saloon - ?600ish, thats with me being 24, 6 points and 0NCB (the NCB is being used on the GT4), but not on a classic policy so no limited miles. I'll ring them when the car is running to get a better quote, can haggle with them a bit then too :p

Do Elephant/Admiral cover engine conversions? Sent Admiral an email a little while ago, but didn't get a reply. They're usually damned cheap, elephant quoted me ?300 on a mildly modded GTE with unlimited miles, 6 points and again 0NCB. Would ring them but I can't be ar$ed lol

I'm not expecting to have the car running before April next year anyway, so I'll be the magic 25 by then as well :D
