Ive just had a rebuild and was thinking about putting some more money under my bonnet. The only thing ive done under the bonnet is 4-1 ashly manifold, but i want to go further. What else can i do with out hitting the bank to hard? eg, induction kits, throttle bodies? i drive a 1.6GSI. thanx for any input!

Nitrous is the cheapest way to more power.... (in the short term)

TB's arent recomended for 8v engines as the gas speed isnt high enough to jsutify them, unless you can get some 34mm ones ;)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i didn't think 4 -1 manifold worked very well on 8valve lumps. I though 4-2-1's were better on 8valves and 4-1's worked better on 16valvers.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.

its all marginal with those exhausts and the kind of tune most engines go to. if you were right on the limit trying to squeeze every last bhp then you'd obv care.

Cheapest value for money perforamance gain = weight loss.

yep bin all the extra weight lol, dont carry fat birds around and make your mate go on a diet lol. carbs, cam, headwork, induction and exhaust. there all things you can do to your engine but if you want quick easy accesible power then transplants are the way forward or nos but that gets expensive.

the weight loss isnt really an option, i dont pik up fat birds and i paid 900 for my interia, so thats not goin anywhere!
T40s would be a mission on a gsi lol, i have a 4-2-1 (my mistake).
one thing i am interested in is throttle boddies as ive herd good things about them. How much would i be lookin at for them? and is it worth it? thanx

lmao you thinkg T40's are effort but want TB's.... do you know what either are? lol

TB's will cost you a bare minimum of ?1000 inc ECU but not inc mapping. carbs will cost say ?500 inc a GOOD rolling road

if you want to keep injection if get an aftermarket ecu and then fit a lairyish cam, ditch the afm and then run the std inlet (ported a little). this gives excellent reults (look at bruces 1.68v gte in the fs arear and total vauxhall a while back)

depends what you use it for, if its ot get quick 1/4 mile times then nitrous, best gains for the money and lose all the extra weight
