So the cars gotta go thru the MOT in a couple of weeks.Crap!
Its the first time i've put it thru and I wanna get it thru first time.
So tell everything u've ever failed on so I know what to check and get fixed.

emissions
sills too rusty (the metal that runs along the bottom of the car at either side)
Wishbone something or others
tyres
single wipers
thats what mine is going to fail on. (apart from tyres)

Read the MOT section in the haynes manual. I usully put cars in to see what they fail on you then have about two weeks to sort it, the garage should do the retest for free then.

Hand break cable and rear wheel bearings every other year

Check the rubber CV joint boots for splits before. If the garage is short of work they may split these for you, it happened to me, the bastards.

wheel bearings very common, bottom ball joints too, and usual stuff like headlight alignment, tyres & lights.
my single wiper passed in march though, with no probs.
and welding will be your main problem.

My Nova has recently failed on CV boots, corrosion near both front struts, corrosion near drivers side rear wheel and out of balance rear drum brakes.

mines gonna fail on CV joints knackered, suspension shot too pieces, tyres, headlights out of alignment, rear brake drums insufficient and god knows what else... so I wont be putting it through :-) goes fine now though!
