Right my new 1.0 beast is here:

Its a mint condition 1.0 mk1 merit covered just over 12k miles 1 owner etc etc.

Put a valver in it, put a courtenay 2.0 suspension setup on it to keep the ride height about the same, fit some ATE callipers and 256mm discs and stick some SR 14inch steelys on it.

Ultimate sleeper!!!!!!!

Nick, Mine's a bit like yours, done 26K though (15K by me). I'm planning on taking it off the road soon to clean up the tiny bits that are starting to get the first sign of rust and make it project mint.
Craig Green has inspired that one, then after another shell to make something silly.

If the shell is totally spotless Id maybe think about building something concourse using the parts from the red one?

dont kill a mint shell with a c20xe or c20let, just find a mint 1300sr or a 1600 8v/16v engine and fit one of them. mine has done only 26,000 on a b reg and i made the mistake of fitting an xe. wont last forever :(

but what ever you decide to do leave the exterior as standard as possible. i fitted a mk1 sr front bumper, left the side strips on and just fitted a mk2 rear bumper as the mk1's have got an exhaust cut out in them( dont like them)
