View Full Version : Cam cover (8v)
Hi, im looking to style my new engine (e16se t40, if bought) and was wondering where i can get a better looking cam cover, (dunno what its really called but thats pretty much what it is!) but im not sure where to get them, or what can really be done to them to make them look better, so id greatly appreciate it if you could all post pictures or links to help me with this small problem.

Chrome it
polish it
paint it
airbrush it
the possibilities are endless.
Of the finishes Ive had, my fave was when it was matt black & it contrasted really nice with the grey Bosch ign leads I had. It looked mint.
Would be refreshing to see a std GSi type one in bright silver with the red '1.6 injection' label. They are nearly all flaky & naff nowadays, or painted etc.
You got any pics of your matt black one craig?
I did mine hurricane grey, just used normal paint.
Came out good, and the finish has lasted well so far.
Not a great pic

Thats a clean top-end, well, freshly painted in an aluminium finish after plenty of degreaser and jet-washing anyway!

Ebay.. was around ?50-70 quid. lol
Its sat in my bedroom as I'm too scared it'll get dirty so will wait for my engine rebuild. The plan is... black bay, black accessories (already sprayed up an injection rail) then finished off with some chrome/polished highlights with yellow hoses and jamaica yellow car.
The chroming is pretty good quality.
