I'll be swapping my awful delco calipers&236mm discs soon for some ATE 256x20mm discs+calipers and some ferodo pads, and probably having a look in the drums aswell to see if anything needs replacing.

Is it worth fitting braided lines, and why? Also if I decide to fit some, which would be the best fluid to use, and should I do anything to the master cylinder while the braking system is being stripped?

id say ATE super blue racing fluid would be a good fluid to use as it wont go off toooo fast.. ebay for it.. should be about ?17 for a litre

as for braided lines, its a wise upgrade but not vital.

The reason braided hoses are used is because firstly theres less chance of them getting gashed by flying stones(if your rallying), old ladies teeth and other general sh1t. And secondly because standard hoses expand when your braking which gives a spongy peddle.

Standard lines and ?3 a Litre DOT4 fluid all the way!!!

I'd only fit braided lines if i got them for a cheap price/nothing. Lol

Stuart at tuning.co.uk told me around ?45 for a set that'll fit the brakes I'll have on, as there isn't an actual kit that'll fit out of the box. My current lines have a hefty mileage on so after what's been said here it looks like I'll be going for braided lines, thanks guys :).

I'd say if you need to replace you lines because they are splitting blah blah blah then get the braided ones.

The Goodridge braded hoses fit straight out of the box.

The Goodridge braded hoses fit straight out of the box.

They seem like the best way to go.

Never heard of any complaints... plus you can get them in loads of colours. :thumb:

If i go for coloured, they'll be black to match the calipers once they've been cleaned and painted. :)
