under 14" steelies hmmm

id go for corsa 1.6 16V gsi calipers and discs. they are 256*20mm as opposed to the astra 256*24mm that dont fit)

then fit some mintex M1144 pads for road use or for road and track Ferodo DS2500's with some good plain old normal discs from GM (autovaux)

Which steelies do you have Coochi?

Phil-My 14" black SR steeles wouldn't fit over the brakes, the rim caught the caliper. That was new discs/pads tho.

the sr ones should fit, with brand new stuff might be tight. Have fitted with stuff thats only had a few miles though and that was fine. Just get the grind out lol, i had to grind mine back on the corsa to get some astra 15s on.

You will need the caliper and the caliper bracket.

The steering knuckle/carrier/hub isn't changed.

What size are the corsa GSI ones?

Adam
15-10-06, 10:03 PM
Same as 16v astra etc.
But thinner disc(slightly)
They are 256mm diameter, by 22mm thickness. Where 16v astra/cav is 256x24.

Ah ok. I was wondering if they're the same as my Cav TD ones (256x20mm discs), now I know they're not. Thanks :).

Corsa GSi discs are 20mm thickness! Discs are bloody expensive aswell!

I paid ?40 something for 256x20mm ATE discs, I was pleased with the price considering I thought i had 256x24mm calipers and was about to spend about ?80 on ATE powerdiscs :).

Correct, i dont know why i'd got 22mm in my head,Lol.

Xen0phobiak-You can pick up normal 256x24 discs for ?8 each.

wtf spec is 3466? never heard of those...

as for warping all discs. maybe you need to change your driving style to suit the abilities of the vehicle....

Adam

If you've been caining the brakes, dont stop the car with the brake pedal.
Stop the last 5/10ft with the handbrake.
And drive normally before you park to let the discs/pads cool.

That should stop them warping.

I was told fastroad/trackday spec. As for warping discs, my current calipers like to stick, and its always had cheap cheap autofactor discs. I think they warped mainly because of some of the long steep hills between my house and my ex's house. Since we split this set hasn't warped yet but they've not been on all that long really.
