I think its because when you know you can blitz someone if you want to, you dont feel the need to. When i had my 1L mini i used to drive that like a knob because i thought i had summat to prove, and it was like that through nearly all of my cars till i got my 205 GTi then i realised it was pointless racing people that i knew i could beat ( i also realised how much of a ****er i must of looked as well! )

I used to race stuff or tease it tbh. I think your ego finds it harder to let things go when ure young. One thing I never did was harass cars that will blatantly waste me though. There are deluded people that beleive they have a 1 off high powered 1.2 that beats Clio 16vs but the harsh reality is, all Novas under 1400 are slow.

But when you do have a properly fast bit of kit, the novelty soon wears off & I found that it is simply not worth wasting the fuel on any p ricks that want to try it on. I found this when I had the turbo, another Nova (a 1.2 with 4 passengers) raced me away from 4 sets of traffic lights in a row. After completely annhialating it numerous times to the joy of the passengers I realised I had an audience & slotted back in behind him just to pressurise him into turning off from infront of me.

Racing every Tom dick & harry is childs play.

I was in my mates Lotus exige the other month when some chavs in a rover nailed it past us on a dual carrige way. Lol a K Regd rover 214 5 door completely standard apart from some 5" jap ghey exhaust.
Also had some chav in a crashed-into-hellfrauds-type clio trying to race me off the lights in the missus SR, couldnt see him by the time I got into third lol

I never race on the roads, but I swear that people have been racing me and I haven't noticed. Its the way that they come screaming up behind you after you have just pulled away from some traffic lights and accelerated to the speed limit. This is in the 306 because the Nova isn't on the road at the mo.

Also going to the cinema the other night in the 307SW(an estate and a diesel). I had a civic that looked like a type R (but just couldn't have been one) trying to pass me off of a round-a-bout. He got along side and couldn't pull past. To be fair I was going a bit faster than usuall but had to back off to let him past so that I could overtake a slower car. He then drove like a maniac through the rest of the roadabouts. Anyway I made it to the cinema in time to watch the film:thumb:

The Transit on the other hand, is different. A chav sees a van and instantly thinks 'slow, i must get in front innit'. The satisfaction of eating a saxo full of townies for breakfast in a semi loaded MWB ford transit has more appeal to me than it ever did doing it in the nova lol

The quickest van ive ever had was a Peugeot Boxer. it was actually near on unbelievable how quick it was. It would peel everywhere in the wet due to FWD and ludicrous amounts of torque, and did a GPS proven 115 mph fully loaded with my fat MD in the passenger seat (suffice to say after 6 points ive stopped being a tool on the roads now ):wtf: I got a Sprinter after it and it was a crawler in comparison! My current trannie 2005 T280 100 isnt slow either, ive raped many a sprinter off the lights full of chav builders :D

Compomotive have quoted me 550 quid to make a set of white rally rims for it. lol Id be tempted if i didnt have the nova to build!

ha ha ha. i remember being one of those chavs thinking he could out drive tiff needel werent in a saxo tho-ax 1ltr yeah lol. i tell u what it is tho when u actually get behind the wheel of a fastcar for the first time you really realise that you cant drive at all lol-i remember going to pick up my rally spec fezzy mk2 10 grands worth of engine and i battered it of the lights after a 323and ended up on the other side of the road infront of an eddie stobart lorry due to the torque steer- i didnt een no what torque sterr was! suffice to say i beat the 323 turbo even tho i was a **** driver but i think that day i matured- but comon lads there it is fun just playing with chavs in there westcoasts with 300bhp nlurkin under your right foot lol

My favourite was coming on to the motorway, this guy in a suit followed me in the outside lane of the slip road onto leading to the motorway, he was sat on my rear bumper as I was checking my blind spot. I dropped to 3rd as it was clear and left him. He was in a C1 - I couldn't resist lol
