What engine is it?
Did you change anything before it started running lumpy?

Are the plugs the correct type & gap?

well it cut out the other week and i just done the usual wd40 job to get it back going again and thought nothing of it till this week cos i thought it must be the plugs. i've just put in new splitfire leads and bosch super 4's so no adjustment needed
the engines a c12nz

Did it start after you fitted the new blue leads?

it started fine and first time. the engine is not over revving and there is no suspect knocking sounds or signs of leaks

Could be the CTS playing up, causing it to "hunt" at idle.

Does it stop doing it when the engines warmed up?

i only notice it on tick over really if i put down the pedal it feels lumpy. it idles at 1000 rpm . it does not affect the performance in normal driving. it smokes a bit in first when i put my foot down but other than that it does not

Black smoke?

Sounds like its overfueling, causing it to run rough.

not black smoke more like white but i've only seen it personally in my rear view mirror lol

head gasket check the the spark plugs if there any differnt (wet) to each other and check your water has the level gone down and is there bubbles going in to the header tank. check your oil turning creamy.

To be honest id stick the super 4's in the bin and get some NGK jobbies. Super 4's are probably the ****test plugs ive ever used, my XE runs lumpy as hell on them, and my old Jetta used to completely refuse to start with them in!

no cream and no loss of water. i flushed the oil and the water out 2 weeks ago. i do get a bit of crap out of the breather and it was running lumpy before the super 4's were put in (ngks previously)

well that pisses on my campfire lol

Have you tried running some injector cleaner through it?

Take the air filter off and see if the injector is injecting ok.
Should be fine tho, SPI is bomb proof.

erm removed ALL traces of WD40 from the dissy cap!!!!! clean it all up (rot and all) then fit in place with a bit of silicone sealer round the dizzy cap base, clean all ht lead connections and conenct firmly. once all that is done spray liberally with ign sealer stuff.

oh well i ended up buying a brand new coil, dizzy cap, rotor arm and ign module today and it seems to have sorted the problem so its all good
thanks for your advice guys
