Is it a bad idea to drive about in a car which has only been primered - will the top coat (when its put on) turn out really rough? Is it possible the car will need to be thouroughly cleaned, then rubbed down, re primered in preparation for a top coat? Cheers

ive been driving around in mine in primer for a while, all you need to do when you paint it is panel wipe it get it really clean then use 800 wet n dry again then panel wipe it again then its ready for painting.

primer absorbs water so when you paint it , if there is still traces of water there , after a short period of time it will microblister , and you will get loads of little blisters on you paint

In short, Dont bother. you would have to reprep the primer anyways so its pointless.
