I have a 4speed 1.2,but I long for a 5th gear!-would a 5speed 1.3 astra'box be any good? hows about a nova gte box?,whats the best gearbox to use for this situation?

Try and get an F13 'box from a GTE/GSi, then get a 4.18:1 diff from an early 1.3 SR.
Loads of acceleration with the luxurious 5th gear!

that sounds alright,I know where I can get the gte gear box,I think,but how will this all affect my top end speed?-I still wanna knock on 100...(downhill,with the wind behind I know...)

Well im selling an f10-5 box for ?30 m8! I live in stoke! mail me asap cuz some lad is coming to look at it saturday!

i have a 1.3 sr box in my 1.2. The acceleration is better and u have a 5th for crusin so u don't do so much petrol. for top speed though stay in 4th. i've had a indicated 112 on mine down hill and 100 105 is easy on the flat but mine's running another 15bhp over standard.
