Safety devices roll cage

Hi guys ive just tried fitting my safety devices 6 point roll cage to my GSI which presented me with a problem, as its a sunroof model the cage will not sit in height wise. So how do i replace the sun roof and mechanism?

Is it normal to remove the sunroof and its mechanism and fit a sheet of perspex with a seal around it?

It can be done but it's a bit rougth i had the same problem on another nova we just cut the cage to suit!!

if you dont fancy cutting the cage, your best bet is to weld in a steel plate, will be stronger and safer than perspex. but depends if you still want light to come in i guess...?!?

Id rather not as its me everyday car plus its just had a respary any other ideas?

I saw some pictures on another forum of a car that had had its sun roof replaced with polycarb. It looked tidy!
I'll try and find the pictures again, and get back to ya.
