If you cut the plugs off a set of phono leads so its just wire and leave the other end with the plugs, and then put the wire end in the speacker outputs in the back of a head unit and the plug end in an amp will it still work?

Im asking this because my mates got a mk3 mondeo and wants to keep his origanal headunit and the amp hes got has only got phono imput.

Any help will be appreciated :thumb:

Doubt it tbh, a speaker output is different than a RCA/Phono output.

It might damage the amp.

NO! you can buy a convertor to do the job though, the head unit would give out about 5watts (RMS) and the amp needs 2-3 volts.
