I've not got anyexperience of doing it...but I know its big time hassle if you want a neat job. The dash and carpets have to be pulled away from the bulk head area to stop 'em from burning and all the major areas around the suspension turrets/TCA arms etc etc need to be welded. There's a kit from Courtenay/Harry Hockley Motorsport that comprises strengtening plates and instructions.

Shouldn't need doing though unless you are thinking of sticking a heavy/powerful engine in like a valver.

My Nova is running the 1.6 turbo conversion from Courtenay and it is not seam welded - no catastrophies yet. Phone and ask for their advice they should be quite helpful.
