my bottom

so my nova got stolen and when i got it back it had been well thrashed and the b*****ds have caused this big f*** off whole in the bottom end.AHHHHHHHHH
so i'm gonna put a new one in. i can get my hands on gte bottom end and gearbox and mate this up to my big valve 14sr head. does this all sound alrite?
also what does lightening and balancing to the bottom end do?is it worthwhile?

PS its really annoyin when somebody steals ur motor and drives it to the point of blowin it.probably means they had more fun than i ever did :(

if you lighten it youll get a freer revving engine but you'll lose a bit of torque.

Its not straight forward puttin a GTE or any 1.6 bottom end on your 1.4 head. It bolts straight on, but your compression ratios will be donald ducked. Ask CP, he knows more about this than me.
