View Full Version : quick diagnosis anyone?

Put my car away the other night - no problems, gone to get it out now and the starter isnt responding - not even clicking, battery is fine, im thinking alarm issues but before i ring the alarm blokey is there anything else i can do/check

nowt in the manual - is there any relays or anything? fuses (ive checked but still)

Have you checked the earth strap? have you got ignition lights?

yeah everythings working just nothing when i turn the key no clicking or weak crank which is making me think immobiliser prob or something

starter or solenoid? don't know much about alarms,sorry.

well theres no clicking to indicate the solenoid is getting power or sticking, ah i guess i'll just ring the alarm blokey, free of charge if it is the alarm lol

Sounds to me that the alarm has the starter solenoid feed immobilised.

yeah - i'll have a look see if i can see any loose wires before i get the bloke out

Turn the immobiliser off? Lol

solenoid is stuck. tap it with a hammer. if not get a new starter

dont the solenoids usually click when theyre stuck?, the immobiliser is part of the alarm but the alarm function seems to be working ok

When the solenoid clicks that means its working fine and moving into position.

If it doesn't click, the solenoid is faulty/jammed.
