Car Wont Start - PLEASE HELP

:confused: Ok Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

Driving Uphill at bout 40MPH, Car Conked Out and Upon Pulling Over A Bang Sound Came from the engine bay as if something had blown. Towed the Car Home and replaced the Ht leads as they looked old. Replaced the Sparkies also but to no avail. The starter motor engages but will not start the car. The rotor arm turns and the dizzy cap is fine. I suspect the coleniod block might have gone (could this be the bang sound i heard, any ideas????). Havent checked the CAM belt fully but the rotor arm turns so it cant have snapped.

Any Idead on what could be the problem or how to test for anything else that mcould be causing a problem.

what engine is it ?

sounds like your dizzy could have slipped and knocked ignition timing out causing a nice flame and bang from the carb lol , well its happend to me before now lol on a 1.0 though

yeh, if the car is locking up, could be your ignition timing. try adjusting the dizzy and turn it over...
