Right, i get a bit confused when it comes to chosing ICE.
Well to start im going to get a 12" pioneer sub (the TS-W3004SPL) which is 3000watt, so about 1200-1500WRMS i think! some sites say this is about 750wrms but im unsure what it is now.
Link to this sub is: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3823/referer/rc_kelkoo.html
Any one know exactly?
And thennn.......i will need a mono amp, Is that right? and will the Kenwood KAC-9152D HIGH QUALITY MONO POWER AMP be ok for the sub mentioned
Link to the kenwood is this if anyone wants to read it

If any one can help me at all, it will be much appreciated!
Thanks, Luke
Not sure if I'm reading the Pioneer specs right, but I'm assuming "Nominal Input Power" to be RMS? Which is 1,000W - I would assume at 2Ohms (the Pioneer site doesn't have the manual for this sub online so I can't get specific figures, so making educated guesses here).
A mono amp would be ideal, but not essential - you could get a 2 or even 4 channel amp so long as you can bridge it to 1 channel, but tbh in terms of power and price you're best sticking to a mono amp.
The Kenwood amp provides 500W @ 2Ohm with your engine running (i.e. 14.4v), probably only about 350-400W with your engine off. So its somewhat underpowered. Ideally you'd want something like an Alpine MRD M1005 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alpine-MRD-M1005-Amplifier-RRP-399-00_W0QQitemZ270026301938QQihZ017QQcategoryZ18797QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) if the sub really can handle 1000W @ 2Ohms.

Thing is i dont have the money to spend that much on the amp you see, hence why trying to find an amp that will power that sub for less than 200!
Any others you know of?

Post above edited, sorry forgot to add the link, im such a Tard
L
i have an amp that will power the sub no bother
it is a 4 channel amp and can produce 500 wrms over two bridged channels
so if you bridge all four channels it ill produce 1000wrms!!
thats some serious amount of power.
follow this link for details

i can sell it to you on ebay for added security if you would want it!
it is competition equipment

thats not bridgeable to one sub tho is it?
Rather get other peoples opinions as i dont know a whole lot of the technical stuff.

According to the spec posted in the ad, no it can't do mono.
never heard of Novex either

Any one know if the 2 channel 3000watt amp from the loudest will be ok for the pioneer?
Or any one else got any ideas of what other amps will be good for it that are under ?200?
L
The loudest 6x9s are a pile of ****. their stated 1000w and my mate unfortunately bought some and blew after about 2-3 weeks after sounding crap and were just running off a headunit (4x45w). I would go for a decent second hand amp. your bound to find a bargain somewear.

right the kenwood 1800 watt amp says "Rated power (1 ohm, 100Hz, 1,0% THD) @ 14,4V : 1000W RMS"
So surely thats ok? or is it because the sub doesnt run at 1 ohm ?
L
Yup - the sub will be providing a higher resistance (i.e. 2Ohms) to the amp. If the amp was capable of working with 2Ohms it'd probably be only pushing out 500WRMS.

Yeh i realised. that one u showed me in pm RJ was good tho, if only i had the money to buy it now, damn it!
L
they are good i promise i have sold two to my mates and they were really impressed.
I supplied all the sound equipment for my mate he got two 12" subs and a NOVEX amp.
It is running the two subs at 500 watts ms each. These are top quality amps.
Sure what can you lose if you dont like it sell it again on ebay

Yes mate, but there not bridgeable to 1, i need a mono amp, to power 1 sub that needs at least 1000wrms.
