digi dash info

right im ganna get a digi dash off a mate of mine!

He hasnt got the transducer, but considering the dash is free, ill taje it and find a transducer, is there many different ones or shud any work?

if i remember correctly there are 2 different transducers and really you need the right one for the dash

right ok, he sed theres a code on the back of the dash, so i take it this will tell me which transducer i need!

Also wat are rough prices for transducers?

You rarely see them for sale.

Theres two types, Ah and Ak, Ah is 6pulse and Ak is 16pulse.

You'll know if you get the right one as the speedo will either be spot on, or reading twice or half your actual speed.

Do you have the two wiring plugs for the dash?

can use a 1.2i transducer on some digi dash's too

there are also different types of dash -
ignoring the style of the rev guage (arched or inverted stick style) there are some with a red switch on the top, on some of those the switch selects what size of tyre it is calibrated for, where as some this switches between what type of transducer it is calibrated for, so even if you can only find 1 sort of tranducer, there is a chance that the dash youve been given will accept either.

Oh right i see, apparently doesnt come with any wire at all or the plugs!

Is it worth getting jus for postage costs (the dash itself i mean)?

well im selling that one in the pic for ?50, but i think its already been sold

Ye, as loggy said some dashes switch the transducer input with the red switch, others its just for tyre sizes.

Both dashes i have, 8v, and a 16v switch the transducer type with the switch, so that was lucky,Lol.

I also ran both mine with a 1.2i speed sender,Lol.

You will be lucky to find the plugs for sale seperately anywhere(although i bought a set for ?10 off ebay a long while ago), transducers usually go for ?15 ish if you find one for sale

So if i bought the above plugs and transducer, will they work? or will i have to find out if i need a certain transducer? and are these the only 2 bits i need except for the dash itself obviously?

Il have the plugs for a fiver

The plugs fit all the dashes, and its a 50/50 chance whether the transducer will work, if your lucky enough to have a switcheable dash it will work.

iv got plugs and 2 ah aswell as 1 ak transducer
im fitting another digi dash as my odometer doesnt work so im gunna keep hold of them till i know which i need.
ill know in the next few days so pm me if u havnt got 1
