Ok here is the situation.

I have stripped the back of my nova out as i transport my mountian bike a lot, I want to tidy the back half of the car up so i am going to build a floor from MDF starting behind the seats and going all the way to the boot.

I want a sound system in the car but i dont want subs as they take up to much room so i want to mount 6x9's in the false floor behind the seats.

Will this location be ok do you think?

Plenty of room to mount a couple subs behind the seats?

Infinity Kappa 6x9s are good though.

I dont really want subs though as they take up more room, I am thinking of mounting the speakers in the natural recess of the floor pan

How about mounting them the rear interior panels? That way a wet mountain bike/etc.. couldn't drip onto them.

thats a very good place to mount them - Nissain did, the 350z has a 10" sub behind each seat.

The trouble with mounting speakers in the rear quarters is mounting them. Its a large void to be filled and really the speakers would need to be mounted on a thick peice of wood due to the nature of the speaker, this would look really odd and i cant use thin wood as this would vibrate and absorb all the bass, so i feel that the floor would be the best place as i can use 18mm MDF

Oh dont worry lots of pics will be taken, the actual work wont start until the 26th (payday):D , but i have started to collect bits and peices together for the install. I will upload the pics later on tonight.

I need to sound deaden the floor firts where the rear seats go and then start building the structure of the floor.

Sorry, I assumed you'd be panelling the sides when you did the floor with the same stuff?
