If i do about 38 miles to half a tank of petrol how much mpg am i getting. I am really bad at maths so if someone could work it ou for me that would be great:tard:
LMAO.
If your sure its half a tank, thats about 7MPG, good ole carbs eh,Lol.
haha
I get 35 mpg outta my BMW 328 sport, somethings either very carbed or very broken
woah, those carbs are setup really badly... although to be fair if your caining the **** off i then it will be "bad"
Dans will do 35mpg iirc if you drive it gently..
I get anywhere inbetween 30-130 miles from half a tank.
Put ?10 in the other day about 25 miles from mine, came back down the country roads, and needed to fill up again before I got home!
That is a LET by the way.
Soon get bored of petrol costs like that, and so far this week 150miles to ?20 and iv got a smidgen under 1/4 left.
Get a SPI ;) Lol
35+MPG when booting it.
also, stating "100miles to ?10" means next to sod all......
i know most of you will fill up to the ?10/15/20 mark but when trying to work out mpg its toss.
pfffft at all the carb comments. Twin forties on a moderately tuned engine like mine when tuned properly will give 35mpg average on the road. On the track it averages around the 25mpg region whilst being raped.
Kronk your car needs a tune, end of :thumb:

lmao an omega being nursed will only jsut return that ;)

Where did you get yours setup?
As you seem to be the only person that gets decent MPG, and smooth running etc.

FPMSL Mine did 32mpg with 40's. And I set them up my self at first. lol

My initial tune was done by a company called velos, they set up everything on the engine. Sadly they retired a few years back.
So after 3 years without needing a tune i tried jamsport in northampton. The car had only lost 4bhp at the very top end due to very slight over fuelling (not noticable economy or powerwise until over 6000rpm)and all they did at the end of the day was adjust the fuelling screws a snatch. They did fiddle with everything else only to find it was in the best place originally anyway.
It is possible to have the car tuned so smooth with economy and reliability as i have proven. Its not said to try and be different as many many have witnessed it etc, and even stu has driven it on many occasions when i have been to lazy, even back from anglesey in the past (3 hrs solid) and seen what the car is truly about.
I've heard a lot of good things about Jamsport..
Its just the majority of people with 40s have no end of problems with MPG,reliability, and them "going out of tune"
well lets put it this way, something as simple as throttle cable adjustment can have a major effect on the problems you mention above. Again its just down to doing it properly right across the board. As regards lumpy running etc the cam might not always be dialled in perfectly. we spent abit of time checking mine a few times whilst fitting it and then it was just down to velos to dial it on on the vernier which was pointless as i actually didnt need it, so i dont use a vernier now even tho i run the ast2 cam

abit of an update its been two weeks since i have had the car back from the tuners and i have noticed that the cam has setted in and it idles nicely at just over 1000rpm plus i did over 70 miles today on half a tank and still got way over a quarter of a tank left . I drived very normal and resisted to put my foot down most of the time and hey presto it workslol. I think it was me just flooring it everywhere mainly due to the exitment of having it back after 4 weeks of driving a 1.1 fiesta while it was rebuilt. Plus last night i got an indicated speedo reading of 116 out of the little motor. I know that the speedo's are generally naff so i wasnt doing that speed exactly but before the rebuild it would struggle to get to 110 mph so iam very happy. Iam at the tuners this thursday so we will again see what bhp its producing and i will tell them to fiddle abit etc and just a general check over. Its been one slow learning curve for me as its my first proper tuned car so i get abit nervous and weird:tard: anyone else get like this:confused:
