Split rims are when the spokes are set back from the actuatul rim of the wheel

Split rims are alloys made of two or 2 pieces rather than cast in one piece.... there was a great exploded diagram in last months Total vauxhall.

Coil overs are a different form of suspension much superior to mcpherson struts (normally suspension) They normally allow damper adjustment and height adjustment.

They are both fairly untechy explanations... you've opened a whole can of worms for more indepth stuff here.

Most split rims do have the spokes set back but this isnt just for split rims.

Split rims are modular wheels with the centre (spokes & hub) machined from billet alloy. The rim is another seperate component. These are then bolted together to form the wheel. This has triggered all the dished/fake rim bolted alloys from BK & suchlike.

Coilovers are where the suspension strut has the spring platform with a variable height, usually screwed up & down the damper body. The bottom of the spring determines the ride height.
