1400 Carbs?

How am i likely to improve the performance, without sticking a XE, LET init can't be a***d with the hassle, so i wanna keep it carbed. Any help? and yes i know Twin 40s are obvious but i would like to be aable to run my car aswell, (only 17).

Weber 32/34 is a nice carb, should keep fuel economy ok too.
Should pick one up for about ?60.
