No Burgo option  and a tad sarcastic:roll:

I don't care what wheels you put on your car. As long as your happy with them :thumb:
Plus i've seen that type of wheel on a Nova before. So I can't see whats so new and leading the way about them.

Anyhoo - The new wheels look nice, but the old one also looked nice as well. Lovely little car:thumb:

Well thats the way i see it with any modified car, you dont modified a car so that every 1 else likes it do ya:wtf: its youre car you need to personalise it (like you have with a few lil touches) make it stand out from the crowd the colour half does that any way.. the wheels just set it of abit more.. but in some ppls eyes its always going to be (the last owners name)'s car.. but to most with these lil touches it wil be your nova

the hole point in modifyin a car is t stand out from the rest.. i get sick and tired of seeing Novas Gsi Kitted up On Speedlines (Bahh bahh) Yes It Works Well But i but every show you go to you see lets say a red nova gsi on speedlines then you see white1 then so on and so on.. There al the same...

its just boring now..

Mate, put the set of wheels on dat you like the most imho it looks mint on both

Keep up the good work fella:thumb:

Hi mate,

Personally i loved the RL7's that you had on it before. Tried to get some myself but discontinued now.
Not sure on the ones you have put on it now to be honest. If you like em though who gives a sh1t what anybody else thinks.

Fair enough, but I have never seen a Nova with colour-coded Revolution RFX wheels in a Pearlescent Green colour before!!!! And I don't think you have either!!!!! I think Euro is the future. Old-school/euro combination is my target.

I appreciate that not everyone will like them, but I just wasn't happy with the Racelines. It was gonna cost me ?150 to get them done anthracite and It cost me the same to have the Revo's done in a much more individual style.

To put it into perspective, I sold the Racelines for ?480, already had the Revo's(purchase price ?200) had the refurbed and painted and 4xnew Toyo's for ?144 incl fitting. All in all, the car looks better (IMHO) and it cost me ?14 all in (on top of the money for the RL7'S)

IMHO Speedlines are a fantastic looking wheel (BETTER than the Revo's or the RL7'S on the Nova) but just a tad too common, a bit like BBS on a golf.

The fact remains that they're old-school wheels for an old-school car.

Flame at will!

Just clocked this after I posted.

I have to admit, I am motivated by the fact that I've bought the car and it will be associated to other people who owned it before me (doffs hat to Garry and Ben) and it's important to make the car MINE. I think the wheels are a large piece of the puzzle...

Dar

I will repeat - I don't care what wheels you put on your car. As long as your happy with them :thumb: Lovely little car:thumb:

However doing different stuff to your car is all well and good but the Nova has been around a LONG time now so to be quite honest your not really going to be doing anything thats not been done before. Unless its rubbish or way out there! Piccy below demonstrates this point nicley
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/DPursey/DreamNova.jpg
So you've painted your wheels, they look nice:D However the way you have constructed your poll. i.e. putting down other cars(I think you should've been a sheep) just to make you feel better about your own is ****ty(and a bad attempt at humor). If someone copies an idea or look from another car, so what! Each to their own.

DI4BLO
04-09-06, 04:53 PM
Theres no "Need centre cap option" LOL

Probably been mentioned answered, but i went with the second option as i like the idea, the wheels aswell, but need caps as i'm not a fan of seeing bolts or hub nuts.

Top job though looks much better than the gold.

Sorry if you don't like the poll, but where have I put anyone's car down? I can't read where I'm slagging anyone off at all. Maybe we should have a poll about the poll, "Is Rick hurting peoples feelings?"

I put up the poll because I wanna know opinions, and Dar, I thank you for yours about the wheels.

I like it with those wheels, got a set of 14's & 15's in the Revolution RFX for the Sport. The 15' are black & polished at the moment but I am going to get them done Polar white with a polished rim.
I think the gold wheels looked dated, these are old skool but fresh.
At least he is making an effort to make the car his own and not just leaving as the previous owner styled it eh!

I still dont think the suit the car - The car may be old skool, but its not old skool styled. With a mk1 sport style you could pull it off, but not with the GSI look.

They may still grow on me, i think deep down i want to like them because i've always loved the car.

well at the end of the day the reason speedlines are such a common nova wheel is prehaps because they are the best nova wheel??

Speedline Alessio's are most commonly seen, so people confuse this with being the best! You see them all the time on some of the best Nova's without a doubt.

Some people are happy to have carbon-copy cars.

If you're happy to have a car and not put any of your own style into it, good luck to you. I'm glad that some people like them (the wheels), and i'm glad some people don't, because if you all liked them, it won't be long before more cars look the same.

I'm sure loads of people would've bought K95 and not changed a thing just like you haven't with Brett's car........ but it's not my style! When I was gonna buy Nick's car, I was gonna change the front bumper (don't like the cutout or the fogs) the wheels and the interior, and would have fitted these wheels with a coded centre!!!

novacabrio
05-09-06, 09:06 PM
Not easy to find 15" RFXs so not an easy copy, I like them for the fact that they are diffrent,

Ben

Why ask opionons if your challenging anyone that dosent like them? So basically only want opinions if people like it.

If people wanna "hate" that isn't a problem

Did you start this thread just to have a rant about people having similar looking cars?

Different isnt always good and it isnt always bad! Your poll comes across as very arrogant too, as already stated you have the option to kiss your **** or dislike you?!

Its been discussed a million times, speedline alesio 2's fit a nova perfect and they look awesome but on the downside they are now quite a common wheel on novas. I hardly ever see a decent nova anymore so I dont give a rats **** if other people have a similar looking car to me.

You going to fit a ford fiesta 1.1 engine next? Because that would be different too lol

Of course I'm arrogant-I sell cars for a living!

No, seriously, the thing with Alessio's is that they were the ONLY 16" wheel you could get in the correct offset for Vaux, THAT'S why their so popular! People didn't have much choice!!!

I'd say it looks better with the speedlines. but it's your car - It's different !

On a seperate note, i hate the way suposidly famous novas, are referred to by their registration ! It's like one big elitest competion. I have enough trouble remembering my own reg, let alone being able to conjur up an image of someone else car based on their registration !

Not having a go, just making a seperate point.

The fitment does contribute to the popularity but I still think they look spot on! similar design to the ferrari 355 rims.

This car will always be referred to by it's reg plate, It's a simple plate to remember!! It's not supposedly famous.. It is!! It's mag featured and been on the web for years. Therefore famous!! It will always be know as K95 VHD by the Old School Nova owners who know it from the days of Gary, Ben and now Rick owning it, it's been around for years, so it's not difficult to remember the plate! Same thing with A16V TB, H16V TB, MAP 18W, J2 LTB there all easily remembered plates and refered to by the reg by a lot of people! Whats the competition in that??

The thing is no matter what the reg is or the colour it will always be Gary Hopes car, like Brett's, Nick's, Dec's, Karl's, they will always be there car's no one else's. Change everything you want, it is still Gary's car in the heart of every nova owner.

At the end of the day the decision is yours and it's your individuality that counts......yes it's nice to get opinions from others but the final decision is yours. People can go to great lengths to be different but someone out there would probably try and go one better........so my advice is 'go with what your heart says'

Matt2107

Personally I would say dont change the plate... but I have a firm hatred of personalised number plates. I think its better to stick with the original plate.
