i think Baxter did it resently, doesnt look to hard to do, just some fibreglassing and sanding

yeah i did but mine did not need fibreglassing as iv got an intercooler in there lol

what happens is when you cut it out it leave like little tryangles on the side, which need filling and smoothing

Not that hard at all, just mark out where you want to cut & take your time !!

Then finish it off with some decent mesh

That was done on a brand new unpainted GSi bumper as well, so no room for error !!

A Nova with this front looks very "dangerous".

But i would choose an other mesh color. Depends on the color of the car.

Good job so far!

as you can see in that photo, your left with little tryangles on the side where you cut the 'scoop' out

just remember to fill it with something ;)

I prefer it with the centre bar removed as opposed to the whole lot meshed upto the fr edge.

What you must do in my opinion is either matt black the crossmember or cover it in black insulting tape. nothing worse than seeing a blank hole with a Red/Blue etc peice of panelwork behind it.

Heres a pic of mine from 'wayback'. Cross member is taped with insulation tape.

Thanks Matt.

The corners were fibreglassed in. My first attempt at fibreglassing. I just put duct tape accross the hole in the shape of the curve. Fibreglassed upto it from behind & then removed the tape when the resin had cured. Bit of sanding & it was ready for painting. That bumper was pretty knackered which is why I had a go at bigmouthing it. My current bumper is std.

A few turbo novas here in germany prefered this solution. They don't like the gfk bumpers for their cars. The choises in the gfk assortmend is very limited.

@ Craig = Yes, the shortcut seems to fit. fibre glas bumpers like the Dietrich RS bumper...

im doing 1 at the mo if you keep the centre bit you cut out you can use it to weld up the triangles. if you aint got a plastic welder just use a solderin iron to do it, easy!
