Bumpers

I want to spray my bumpers white but i was talking to a sprayer today and he said to get the best result you should start with colour coded bumpers then spray them the right colour. He said if i do this with the grey ones it will flake off due to stone chips jet washin is this true what do you think cheers mark ps anyone got any colour coded bumpers pm me

the paint shouldnt come off! maybe he's covering himself in case he does a crap job? Also the only colour coded bumpers that came on nova's were GTE and GSi bumpers.

Would certainly be easier to start with GSi/GTE bumpers as these were all primered and painted up from the factory so have a smooth finish to begin with - the other bumpers all just have the textured plastic so will require additional rubbing down and priming; its just more effort but its certainly not impossible. With decent preparation and painting, the result should be fine.
