Welcome,
is it possible to pick 1 up for around a grand
For around a grand it'll be a shed, probably on 1lt suspension and with the engine more on the piss than a certain Italian construction.
?1k would probably buy you a standard Mk1 1.0 with ghey bodykit, neons and max power stickers! lol
evenin.
?1k will get you a decent condition one - just check for the usual rust and whether the engine bays been seam welded and/or plated up.

buy a low mileage granny mobeil lol and do the conversion yourself.
better project than cleaning up after somebody else.

Welcome to Novaload.
If you have the money then its just a case of being patient & waiting for the right car to come along. These sort of cars dont sell everyday which means if you genuinely have the cash it shouldnt be too hard to haggle on price.
As said elsewhere though, make sure you get one with the engine properly installed & have a good look around the car for rust & any previous accident damage.
Can be a nice car if properly prepared & well presented. :thumb:

If the van's a rockin', don't come knockin'!
welcome buddy, my best advise is to buy a nova that already has decent brakes/suspension, then spend the rest doing the swap yourself

Hello and welcome, my Nova's pretty mint for an 18 year old car, only cost me ?200 as well, it really does pay to "shop" around, don't go rushing in and buy the first Nova you find
