hey, just wonderin if anyone could help me out ive a 1.4 sr an need more power, anyone know how hard it is to fit a gsi engine, i fitted the 1.4 myself so shouldnt be tool hard juust the loom, do i have to connect the dash loom an engine loom together?

You connect the GSI engine loom to your car loom.

fit a 1.6 8v and run it on carb's. then you wont have to worry about the loom or changing the tanks.

If you dont have them already, you'll need the injection fuel tank and fuel lines, along with arsing about with the loom, guess it depends on how competant you are with that sort of thing. As LLTN says, fit a 1.6 8v Carb engine if you want a easier job, I think the engine you'll need is a 16SV (this is something I've looked into, but think I'll fit a 1.4 SR lump for cheaper tax etc) As for tuneability, the 1.6 is a good base to build on.

sory now lads iv got hold of an early mk2 astra 1.8 8v engine just today but dont no bout the shocks an things i live in ireland an gsi's are rare enough without tryin ta found an old astra or cav with a carb 1.6 would the 1.4 manifold work on a 1.6?
