what would be the best head to fit to my 1.2i block.1300sr or 1200 carb looking to fit a 32/34 weber as i got one cheap of a 1400 sr at the local scrappy,with 1300 sr manifold i think. is it even worth it?

i think i stand to gain a few ponies over the standard spi with this mod and a de-cat.
anything else i would need to do eg fuel pump. the engine would be goin in my second base model spi shell. the one with the foocked engine, as this block has only done 56000 miles all at the hands of my granny.

I wouldn't bother tbh, you would still have a 1.2i block, which would give hassel with emissions at MOT times.
You might gain 5-10bhp, but would then have the hassel of a manual choke etc.

plus you'd need an exhuast off a non cat nova otherwise your going to kill that so you deffo wont pass come emissions test time ;)

ive already said i would be removing the cat.

The engine is going in, as it's just sitting in my garage.

I would just be using the car for a bit of fun but was wondering about fitting a better head and inlet manifold to give it a bit of poke.

Would say a 1300 head go straight on?

What other mods would i need? eg.fuel pump?

Manual choke would be easy enough to sort out would it not?
Just drill a hole through the bulk head and run it into the cabin.

I meant hassel as in pi**ing about in cold mornings trying to keep the engine running etc,Lol.
A 1200 head would go on, but you might need compression checked, the 1200 carb block is different to a 1200spi one, different bore.

I removed my choke because it was impeding the airflow lol ,

Starts fine and after ticking over for about 20 seconds its fine

ive done it use a 1.2 carbed head and use as a 1.3/1.4 inlet and carb but ul need to cut into the loom and cut sensors out and different water pipes pretty quick to. the 13/14 carb also has auto choke to if u pipe it up.
