when people have stipped out there dash what do they do with the lighting switch and hazard switch for example? any pics would be cool

Get rid of the heaters and dash. Thats what i will do,low weight style all the way...
Or you can build a dash in carbonfiber like this -->

i did strip out the dash on my old shell, i was going to use the original pod the light switches were fixed too on the dash, and the hazard switch was fitted to a old dashboard mount

pic taken when i first removed the dash and started to tidy the wiring
thats the idea mike, i can make up some alloy switch panels to mount gauges and switches. do you have a heated front screen?
that carbon dash is
ste
i don't have a heated screen yet mate, but that was the plan, i've decided to take the dash out of my new shell, i'm going to use the shroud that covers the clocks and joins on the the pod that the light switches are fixed too, join them together then flock them, jobs a good un lol

The green beasty will be getting a chopped down MK2 dash though, possiubly flocked. Christian on PVG had a go and it looks quite cool, not sure how im gonna do mine yet?

what advantages are there to mounting fuel lines/pump inside the car ?? is it a safety precation like on rally cars ??
im probably gonna keep my dash becasue ill need to use mine on the road every now and then

Its basically a motorsport thing why i did mine, all my mates have rallied etc so its been part of my growing up since a kid.
Also why do you need a dash to drive it on the road lol, mine was an everyday car for well over a year and even now i still drive it around/to and from trackdays etc lol
nova--chris, car looks awesome, how far off finished is it ?

Car has just been taxed ready for the start of september. Plan is get a few hundred miles on it then its back to jam motor sport for final mapping. From there i aim to fit the nitrous then. but obvously will take time as im wanting to do it correctly.

I'd suggest keeping the dash and heater in, but hack what you don't need off the dash to save weight. Having a heater will make the car so much more usuable during 60% of the year cos you can demist efficiently and actually feel the pedals and steering wheel cos your hands aren't numb lol . Also any weight saving from dash removal is wasted in winter months through the extra layers of clothing you have to wear lol
If it is purely a track or summer toy then rip it out and go fully minimalist tho :thumb:
