hi guys i have a 2.0l 16v engine out of a cavalier g.s.i which had an oil cooler on it but i want to temporaily remove it until i have enough time to instal it in the front bumper this is so i can use the car in the mean time. I have unbolted the oil cooler from the oil filter housing but do i have to remove the housing? if so how do i fit the oil filter back on? or how do you plug the holes properly?

remove the 22mm (i think) piece of threaded bar from the the oil cooler take off plate and fit the shorter pipe from a non oil cooled 1.6/1.8/2.0/2.2 ithe pipe will have to be bought new as it is damaged during removal so a second hand one can't be used

Can you remove the pipes from the oil cooler and just connect them together with the correct adaptor, so you just have a loop of pipe ready for the cooler at a later date?
Plese don't let busses pull out.

short piece of threaded bar is only a couple of quid from vaux
and if you loop the pipes you may have problems!
