What spec is the engine going to be?
They are not needed till you get upto 300+duration, and 7K+rpm.

i'm looking at a 284 cam. so will stick with hydraulics. is it wise fitting new ones or are the old ones easy and quick to refurb, going to take my head out and put the new one on in a day.

cheers lltn

There very easy and quick to refurb.
Haynes gives a good guide.

A new set is about ?20ish.

Refurbing or changing your lifters is always a good idea but if your changing your cam you should really get new followers. Getting a cam that is designed to be high lift and running worn followers is a bit of a false economy.

id never fit solid lifters on a hydraulic profile as the cam is desined to run 0 clearence, and the solids need a bit of clearence for heat expansion etc...
