egr valve

hi,

has anyone taken their egr valve off the gte engine? i was wondering how easy it is and what needs doing?

going to do it to mine as my manifold is full off chewwy ****e and cannot be good for air flow i though i could have hole welded in the exhaust port then the gases simply wouldnt be able to get to the valve or make a blanking plate for the valve or remove the vaccum pipe which is the simpleist option but i think it would then heat the manifold as there is no where for the gases to go
