I bought a front strut brace off a member i paid for it 2 weeks ago and have not recived it....

i emailed him asking what was going off and he said it was posted over a week ago by royal mail standard parcel he has no trackin number and said there is no insurance on this service..

i have contacted royal mail who have said every standard parcel is covered with lost insurance and he should have a tracking number........

What do ppl suggest i do ????

This seams to be a problem that needs looking at (name and shame)
what other systems can be used....

I have asked the member for his phone number to discuss this more and he has not gave it me...

Simple answer is demand that the item you are being is sent recorded... it only costs an extra 64p or something so is well worth it. Otherwise if its not someone you trust then dont buy it.

Ratings would be quite good though.

yeah, similiarly i've asked the seller for for info regarding the postage, and he's not even bothered to respond, shows his guilt if you ask me!! Recorded postage on the item that i bought would have been quite a lot more because the item was fairly heavy.
I could name and shame him, but what do i have to acheive by that? i've tried to resolve my situation calmly, but i'm getting to the stage where i'm really gonna loose my rag with him.
wannabe, pm me his user id and we'll se if we're on about the same seller.

Alas, in this case, he's right and RM are wrong - you don't get tracking numbers on standard parcels.

However, there IS insurance on std parcels - up to ?30. If you have a look on the RM site you should find links to claiming for an undelivered parcel, I *think* you might have to wait at least 30 days before you can claim though (but have a look on there and check).

Have you checked with your local sorting office to see if they're holding anything? Did the sender put a return address? (ALWAYS a wise idea with RM!)

dont they still get a reciept from the post office though saying they have sent it whether its standard or recorded

John
26-08-06, 04:51 PM
yes they get a receipt anyawy. My seller has conveiniently lost it!

Jack
26-08-06, 05:00 PM
Should get a receipt yes, but you don't need this to file a claim.

If I was you, give it a bit longer to see if it turns up, then ask for a refund and leave it up to the sender to claim the money back from Royal Mail.

Very doubtful that Royal Mail would accept something the size and weight of a strutbrace, it sounds like the seller is feeding you a load of **** tbh.

No offence chaps, but if this member has no problems his end then there should be no reason to name him, as he 'should' reply himself with nothing to hide (obv without turning this thread into a battle zone).

Imo as said give it a few days to sort it out, and he should reply here himself (at least this is how i would judge the situation). The only odd thing is the no phone gig, a pay as you go phone costs nothing to run and almost nowt to buy so that old chestnut never washes with me when things are so easy nowadays lol lol

Thats right, you put in your replies and act all nicey nicce.

ITS JACK, He is the one that is at fault, and we all know it.

The Scooby Doo Detective Agency is hot on your tail boy!!

Also, I've a set of wheels bought, that are in England, fully paid for at the sellers house. I'm not concerned. I know I'll get them, but precautions still need to be taken children.

The member in question is making no attempt to contact me what so ever and i feal he is being very unresonable about the situation....

The member in question is called DAVE_RAND i would suggest that people do not send him any payment for anything he is "supposedly" selling.

Its all just too suspect for me

First it never turns up
Then he replys to my email by "well i sent it week ago"
Then he has no proof of postage
Then says he hasnt got a phone so i can discuss it with him
Then says "well how do i know you havent got it"

Ive clearly stated to him i want a refund and havent heard nothing since its ppl like this that make a bad name for a club.

sorry to be moaning about it all but 35 pounds is 35pounds you pay for something you expect to get it or if no then a refund.

29-08-06, 10:27 PM
sorry only just noticed this thread dont usualy look through the general chat

i can see your point mate if you havent recieved the strut brace but i have sent it yes i do have a landline phone but its my parents house im at and im not giving there number out for some unhappy chappy to start phoneing up u must accept that i dont see why i should give you your money back for something which i have posted let alone all the abuse i have got and as for the threats feel free to pay me a visit i have nothing to hide and like i said i live opposite a police station you will be watched so if you have plans of STEALING something you mite aswell give it up

ade
29-08-06, 11:09 PM
Theres no way of resolving this unless you can trace the package.

And the only way to do that is insist that all "big" or costly items over ?30 sent via royal mail are sent recorded delivery or special next day. Costs a bit more but you get tracking numbers and compensation. Anything else youre wasting your time...

Think youre gonna have to chalk it up to experience on this occasion. If he said he posted it, you cant really expect him to refund cash - perhaps a compromise and half refund?

Do you really expect anybody to believe that, people arent stupid and you should credit them with more intelligence than you are, bottom line is you never sent it for whatever reason, to lazy perhaps or waiting for more sales to just do one trip to the post office, or simply havent had time to go to the post office so you have been fobbing him off since to buy yourself time. Whereas in reality if you'd just been honest and said sorry mate i havent had a chance to post it yet all this could have been avoided.

Jack
30-08-06, 08:30 PM
If the address was there they'd still deliver it, I've had loads of stuff delivered with my name unreadable! Although if we're talking about Royal Mail then thats probably quite believable really lol

ade
30-08-06, 10:12 PM
if its come back you have 2 choices -

1 - send it recorded or next day delivery (either eay it can be tracked)
2 - refund the money to the buyer.

and rather than send cash get bank details or paypal and to bacs transfer...

dave_rand
30-08-06, 10:51 PM
balls in his court now to be honest if peopel dont believe me i dont realy care whats happened has happened there was no address left just a good job i allways put a senders address on i guess so like i said up to wannabegsi ill post it out to him again what ever post service he wants or if he would rather have is money back no problem

Hmmmmmm..................

How did he pay you Dave ? Paypal, Cheque ?? How about doing the decent thing and sending him a pm. And really you dont have to give out your number, you could have replied back asking for his number and done the courteous thing and rang him and said sorry.

dave_rand
30-08-06, 11:29 PM
you think i havent pm'd him that was the first thing i did im just keeping othes updated i dont want to be made out something im not to be honest if i hadnt had the abuse and threats i would of got on with it and tryed my best to sort out the problem but when some one is sitting at the other end of a computer saying **** i just thought why should i bother guess you have never been in this situation before its easyer for u to sit there and say what your saying
