View Full Version : whats needed with 2.0 brakes

iv been looking for a while and i missed out on the last set that was on ebay.do i just need the calipers and disks, or is there other things that i will need to convert it onto my car, many thanks guys:thumb:

Pads help too :p Lol

apart from that, they go straight on.
If you have at least 5.5J 14" wheels :)

ha.yeah pads help sumtimes.cheers m8.yeah got 15s on the so they will fit over the calipers nicly. well ill start bidding then. a 2nd hand set is worth about 50quid i think.thats the highest ill pay i recon.

i paid 20quid for a set of calipers, plannig to upgrade the discs/pads anyway so im happy with 20notes

calipers, sliders, pads, discs, brake bleeding kmit, brake fluid and you should really get uprated braided hoses (goodridge).

arghhh to many thing, how hard is it to do then as my 1.2 feels like its got blcks of wood trying to stop it

From memory :- Take the wheel off, 10mm allen key attached to a breaker bar will remove the 2 bolts per caliper (round the back). Undo brake hoses and drain them. Pull off brake disc. Then refit the 16v discs and calipers.

and piut more brake fluid in.

You should also get an uprated servo/master cylinder from a GTE - the 1.2 units pish

is that a master cylinder from a GTE nova or a GTE astra ade?

GTE/GSI/SRi nova.

No need for it IMO tho.
