theres a tray that sit's in the sump that attaches to the block befor the sump gasket any one know what it's for?

asked befor about gasket arrangement down there and i belive you only have one gasket between the sump and this tray thing. does'nt mention anything bout it in hanes. won't it leak between the block and the tray?? and why do you get two gaskets in a gasket set??

i would put them both on, one between the block and the tray and one between the tray and the sump.

Sounds like a windage tray to help keep oil away from the crank. You got any pictures?

the 1600 came with as said a windage tray, most people tend to slip two gaskets in (or tons of sillycone lol)

are we talking about the baffle in the sump that prevents the oil foaming due to the crank, and to stop the oil surging as you corner?
