between a gsi engine and a gte engine??
Gte e16 se has afm in airbox lid, and no cat, gsi c16se is run by a map sensor and has cat iirc! some c16ses also had egr valve.

if that rite about afm in air box lid how do u then fit a induction kit??
same as you would in any other car on a c16se , just remove airbox and fit kit into induction hose. Gtes with afm have to use an adapter iirc. It bolts to afm and allows a round type filter to be fitted, available from tweeks', about 25 quid or there abouts.

carbs sound like a plan
Why, do you already have or are you thinking of fitting a gte engine?
As said by G88Kag, the biggest visual difference is the Air Flow meter on the air inlet piping.
