what basically involved in changing this? is it a head off job?

will any parts need to be renewed to handle the new cam profile?

Thanks for any help :thumb:

dosent have to be a head off job if you get the draper lifter tool.

what cam profile have you gone for?

if you do it without movin the head you will be fine but remember to instant gasket the cam box back but imoa for what it takes i would remove the head get it skimmed and put a new gasket on at least you know it will be ok

^^^ bad advice alert (first sentance)

if you take the head bolts out (which you need to do to get the cam box off then you HAVE to at the very least replace the gasket... and a skim if poss.

its a standard engine, what cam profile do u think would be more worth it?

Well, i'm continuously using the car, taking the head off n getting it skimmed wouldnt be practical for me... however i've got a gasket set and bolts ready shud i have HG failiure.

tbh id seriously plan what you want to do/get out of the engine before simply slapping a cam in...

have a read of my 1.4 tuning guide in my sig

then why bother modding an engine that your going to throw away... spend the money on extra toys for the 20xe lol

Get the draper rocker removal tool, well worth the tenner, and make the job miles easier.

im actually being naughty both engines are Dis pack and theyre going in a corsa sri ;)

How ever all C14SE's were dispack i believe.

iv seen a few with distributor on them. that makes it harder i had a kent 195 in mine and couldnt get it to idle correctly coz u are unable to adjust the spark timing. unless u go stand alone ecu route.
