Have you tried cleaning the laser?
sounds technical - where abouts is it at
what do u clean it with or just a wipe with anything
shane
u can buy kits for it from hmv.
being a sony one there is some specific thing to try, but thry cleaning it out first, think its just some liquid they reccommend
Should be able to use one of they little CD lense cleaning things. Its basically a cd which you stick in the player and it cleans the lense as it goes round. Check the instructions on the packaging to make sure its suitable first though.

ive had a few sonys in my time and they have a tendancy to go like this - the flip down ones are worst for faults, i gave up on mine in the end and got a new one, if you solve the problem let me know because mines still in a cupboard lol

yeah its a flip down one - is the only way o clean the lense to put one df the cleaner cd's in
shane
yeah. unless you take it all aprat and get a air canister and lens spray. safer to use the disk.
failing that take it to a car audio shop for them to repair
